Tuesday

I have posted the coach part of my footage of london to the coach company "National Express" on a DVD and hope to receive a reply partaining permission confirmation.

To create the disc I used, to send the footgage, I did minor editing on an editing suite to select the relevant footage and add titles so the viewer knows what is going on in the footage.

The DVD was made using "Adobe Premiere Professional" software, for editing and exporting, and "Adobe Encore 1.5" for creating the DVD menu and burning the lot to a disc.

Thursday

coach permission film.
i've recently written to the public relations department at National Express who own the bus the band filmed on to ask for permission to show the footage.
They have asked for a copy of the footage that was taken on-board so i have created a short compilation of the footage from the coach to show them.

This has made me realise the importance of having permission prior to filming, however, the company did ask for a copy of the footage, which makes me think that they'd still want it if i'd asked before.

London Shoot

I took a Camera to london after completing the neccessary risk assessments and call sheets 19/10/07
The footage was good, however a technical error with the camera resulted in losing a possible day of footage. Therefore, fill shots that i wanted of london scenery were unavailable. But the footage i did get was good.
  • Good shots of interviews with the band as people, drunk, laughing, having a good time
  • good framing of minimal fill shots
  • good content
  • not enough fill shots to make the setting obvious.

the last bullet point is disappointing for the product as the fact that we were in london is not made obvious. However, many pictures were taken and they could be incorporated into the film to create montages, which would fit the rock n' roll, low budget style that can look like this with effects editing, such as a fuzzy screen gradually becoming a picture. These could appear between scenes in the london section.

Friday

I have researched similar products to mine.

These have included (click to find example)
  • Towers Of London - "Special Delivery" [Extract from the Towers of London Documentary on Bravo]
  • Motley Crue - Documentary clip showing the band talking about their past experiences with each other.
  • Vince Neil - Clip showing Vince Neil being harrassed for an interview, an even more realistic documentary clip as it shows him as normal, not as a talking head.

designed a logo for ""production company""
Connotations:
pink and black: rock n' roll, and the company makes "rock n' roll films"
messy writing: Rock n' roll, messy "don't care" attitude
messiness, not suits
not suits, rock n' roll and more personal to the audience
